STUDIO PERSONNEL:

Thomas Merácz – founder, producer, composer, cellist.

Thomas was born in Fürth, Germany to musical parents from Hungary. Emigrating to the United States, his family made their home in Los Angeles and worked hard to allow him to pursue his first love and passion: music.

Thomas' formative years were spent in classical training at the Southern California Conservatory of Music. Studies there included music theory, piano and the violoncello and entry into competitions across Southern California. Performances with orchestras, opera companies and as a solo cellist rounded out his repertoire by his mid-twenties. He continued his studies in composition and performing arts at Cal State Northridge, and finally CALARTS, while interning with several LA area composers working on feature film, broadcast and commercials both in composition and production.

It was in his mid-twenties that Thomas also discovered electronic music and began building his studio. Initially a collection of vintage gear, a decade of productions has evolved into VC Media- a broad scope of software and hardware-based tools that assist Thomas in his musical, commercial and creative endeavours.

With close to 150 remixes and productions in hand, Thomas is currently working on a full-length album of original material and also a volume of cello and electronic works that embody variations on a minimalist theme. 2010 will be busy indeed.
